Adventist HealthCare is a health care company that provides health care services throughout the Washington, DC area. In 2019, Adventist HealthCare expanded into Maryland with the opening of their new White Oak Medical Center. The company also recently expanded their network of physicians and outpatient rehabilitation locations. It has also announced an agreement to provide management services to Howard University Hospital. As part of their expansion, Adventist HealthCare has signed on to become an official sponsor of the Maryland SoccerPlex. This facility is located in Germantown, MD, less than 30 minutes from the Nation’s Capital.
The Maryland SoccerPlex is a 64,000-square-foot facility that offers soccer and volleyball courts. Located at the same site as the Adventist HealthCare Fieldhouse, the facility can host a wide range of events. From athletic competitions to weddings, this facility is the perfect place for any type of event. With eight basketball and volleyball courts, the building is a great spot for both men and women. Moreover, this venue features a cafe that serves light snacks to the guests.
The field at the Adventist HealthCare Fieldhouse is the home to the Washington Spirit of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Over the years, this venue has hosted many international friendlies and Major League Soccer matches. In addition to hosting national and international tournaments, the venue has also served as the home of the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships.
Adventist HealthCare is the newest official sponsor of the Maryland SoccerPlex. Previously, the organization had a partnership with Discovery Inc.; however, they have decided to move their headquarters to New York. They are also a long-time member of the Maryland Soccer Foundation, the governing body of the facility. Fuhrmann joined the board of directors in 2013 and is the first woman to serve as the board president. Her plans for the future include developing community partnerships and improving the facilities. She also wants to elevate the importance of physical education and athletics.
The Adventist HealthCare Fieldhouse is a multi-sport complex, which means that it can accommodate any sport, from basketball to volleyball to hockey. Additionally, this location has two NHL-regulation-sized ice rinks that are available for public use. There are also two fully-equipped locker rooms, a party/conference room, an arcade, and family bathrooms. When combined with the 24-soccer fields and eight volleyball courts at the Maryland SoccerPlex, it is easy to see why this facility is so popular.
